 The Yoga Show - London

Christina Niewola teaching at The Yoga ShowChristina taught an open class, on October 28th, at The Yoga Show working through a series of postures to provide an introduction to Iyengar Yoga to the participants.  The class was called ”Yoga for Everybody, whatever your body shape, size or level of flexibility”.  Christina was one of several teachers who taught on behalf of the Iyengar Yoga Association of the UK at the show.

Iyengar Yoga is a very precise form of yoga but that does not mean that it is restricted to certain types of individuals, it can bring benefit to all types of people irrespective of their ability, body shape or age. Practicing yoga helps you overcome and prevent many stresses, strains, aches and pains. It promotes a firm foundation for health and well-being.

Experienced Iyengar Yoga teachers are able to assess and adjust students in order to get the most out of each posture and encourage further development through judicious use of equipment such as blankets, belts, bolsters and blocks.

To give a wider audience an appreciation of Iyengar Yoga, Christina and some of the teachers and students she has trained, gave a demonstration of poses (asanas) on the main stage in the exhibition hall.
